Brooklyn was a dream. All the things that happened there just couldn’t happen. It was all dream stuff. Or was it all real and true and was it that she was the dreamer?
This quote is from A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, a book written and set in the 1940s. Which means that Brooklyn has always been the epicenter, the promise land, the lifeline, and the fucking dream. And we are all living in it. And that is something that’s so important to remember yet easy to forget when we get swept up in the reality of survival in this place.
Need help remembering it? That’s why I’m here. To show you all of the amazing things this city has to offer, to infiltrate your dreams, to get into your inbox and your head and your heart and wherever else you’ll let me in.
Keep dreaming, Brooklyn.
