is this not all of us, inside? underneath all of the hustle and cuss, the push and pull, the movin’ and shakin’ we’re just laying on our backs in the park, wistfully pulling at flower petals and visualizing the lives we want and trying, desperately, to get up. to go. to pedal forward.
and maybe it feels like we’re against a brick wall. this is me, so often. but what i know is how it will feel when i find it. when i finally grab on to it. and until then, i’ve got a tiny little chisel that is boring a hole in that thing that you can’t see because i’ve hidden it behind the poster of marilyn monroe.
it all starts with movement. with exploring this city and this borough and seeing how so many other people have gotten just beyond that wall. so let’s find it, eh?
keep dreaming, baby, because this is how it starts. the rest we’ll figure out as we go.
