what is freedom, brooklyn? what does it mean, this day of independence? while morale for our country might be a bit low right now, we can celebrate our freedom to move, to dance, to love, and to be alive; to embrace sunshine and sangria in dangerously unbalanced proportions. to make love on rooftops and dance in the moonlight ’til dawn.
freedom. let’s celebrate in the most traditional sense this independence day weekend, with hotdogs and cookouts and fireworks and red-white-and-blue, and also in the wildest of ways, all in my very throroughly and patriotically curated guide below, that will take you to a tropical paradise in bushwick, a flashback dance party that will have you sneakin’ around until morning, free-booze party 10 years in the making, and a rooftop event that will make you just dye.
just. add. fireworks.
come along, baby. because we’re young and wild and FREE.
