Pot Luck Dinners at two Local Churches in North Brooklyn
It seems that area churches recognize that this time of year, the best way into our hearts is through our stomachs. Come join the lovely people at First Spanish Presbyterian Church for a free community meal and turkey raffle and the Park Church Co-Op for a Potluck and reception because let’s be honest, you could use a little sin-cleansing.
FRIDAY
LUST Alternative Thanksgiving at Lot 45 in Bushwick
Have you ever been sitting at Thanksgiving dinner and thought, this would be way cooler if it was a little saucier, sexier, racier? Of course you haven’t. Because that’s gross. But if you so desire to take the tradition out of the holiday and spice up your game (and I’m not talking about wild meat), head to Lot 45 for their alternative Thanksgiving. Feed off of naked bodies; no utensils, no plates- embrace to your carnal desires. It’s an immersive underground lustful dinner party and an evening dedicated to intense carnal intimacy that will leave you feeling very grateful this Thanksgiving. Lusty party to follow. Rubulad Weekend-Long 25th Anniversary Party, location TBA
A party that has been going on for 25 years is definitely a cause for a weekend-long celebration. Rubulad, what began as an art and ephemera show born out of a collection of tattered keepsakes has been spreading love and quirky, art-based events that culminate into damn amazing dance parties. Come celebrate with them Friday AND Saturday night. Tickets available here, parties start at 8:30pm. Location announced once you buy your ticket but trust me, it will be in Brooklyn.
SATURDAY
Gorgon City at Avant Gardner in Bushwick
How about an amazing concert and dance party at one of Brooklyn’s best venues Saturday night to help you dance these snowy blues away? Winter Hibernation Party at Northern Territory in Greenpoint
Even though I can’t deny that I only visited Northern Territory during warmer months, I’m still heartbroken to see it go. Our beloved rooftop spot on Franklin St will be shuddering its doors forever after this weekend. And I don’t want to break your hearts even more by showing you the mock-up of what it will become… but let’s just say it’s awful. It’s going to become something awful. Go show them some love and drown your sorrows this Saturday night. Greenpointers staff will be pouring the drinks. Party starts at 4pm and goes as long as you do. 12 Franklin St.
Trap Kitchen Thanksgiving Dinner at Kinfolk in Williamsburg
Thanksgiving is cool again with Trap Kitchen’s annual Thanksgiving dinner, at Kinfolk!
